LIDVAL Fyodor (Johan Friedrich) Ivanovich (1870-1945)
An Architect. Was born in Petersburg. Graduated from the Academy of Arts in 1896, became an academician in 1909. The leading master of neoclassicism and "modern" styles, the author of comfortable living houses and beautiful public buildings: Lidval House at Sofja Perovskaya street, 1-3, Zhelyabova street, 19 (all in 1904-1905) and Kirovsky avenue, 61 (1906-1907), the Second Society of the Mutual Credit building, Azov-Don Commercial Bank. The best works of Lidval are: Nobel House, Tolstoy House, the Hotel "Astoria", completing the ensemble of St.Isaac's Square. Since 1918 lived in Stockholm.
